The telecare system which uses computer technology to keep older people safe in their homes is described [in the inspection report] as “innovative”. Executive director for supported living, Tony Hunter, said: “We are in the process of creating a modern social services department that provides early intervention, links up with our colleagues in health, and allows us to stop problems becoming crises”.
